This instrument can source and measure voltage and current at any combination. It has 10fA, 10uV measurement sensitivity. Measure and source 1A and it can do 1000 source/measurements per second. Great for characterizing semicondutors such as LED, transistor and diodes.

This unit is usually used as an ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) which can be used
to characterize diode (so you can make it a curve tracer) and other semiconductor
devices. To do so you need to hook it up to your computer using GPIB so it the computer
can control the pulsing sequence and also read the current and voltages. I have many
GPIB options available at a discount to buyers of this unit:
1) GPIBRS-232 (Serial Port) converter for $100. Least expensive option.
2) GPIBEthernet converter for $300. Very convenient.
Both options are platform independent.
